CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The terms of appointments for the following JCPC members end <br />September 30: Susan Burns (school superintendent designee), LuAnn <br />Andrews (sheriff designee), Scott Stoker (chief court counselor designee), <br />Revella Nesbit (area mental health director designee), Ben Sharpe (parks <br />department designee), Felicia Wilson (at large) and Angela Ward (at <br />large). The JCPC Secretary requests the reappointment of everyone <br />except Ms. Nesbit and Mr. Sharp due to resignations. <br />Further, the JCPC Chair has asked the Board to consider appointing a <br />new Commission member to complete an unexpired term ending <br />December 15, 2010. The Council meets on the third (3) Wednesday of <br />each month at 7:30 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room in the Governmental <br />Center. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to appoint LaShay Avery (area mental health director designee) <br />and Perry Gabriel (parks department designee) to the JCPC for 2 -year <br />terms ending September 30, 2012, including an exception to the <br />"residency" and "multiple service" provisions of the Appointment Policy for <br />Ms. Avery. <br />Motion to reappoint Susan Burns (school superintendent designee), <br />LuAnn Andrews (sheriff designee), Scott Stoker (chief court counselor <br />designee), Felicia Wilson (at large) and Angela Ward (at large) to the <br />JCPC for 2 -year terms ending September 30, 2012. <br />Page 396 <br />H -4 <br />
