RFP Response for Springfield Free Public Library Section 3 Business Profile The Library Corporation was found in 1974 by the same family who owns and operates the company today. TLC owns controlling interest in The CARL Corporation and Tech Logic Corporation. There are no other affiliations to any corporate entities. Background Our headquarters are located in Inwood, West Virginia, 90 miles west of Washington, DC, with other offices in Colorado, Minnesota, and Singapore. The Library Corporation has owned the controlling interest in Tech -Logic Corporation, a developer of self- check, RFID and automated materials handling systems since 2004 and purchased the Carl Corporation in June 2000. The Library Corporation currently serves over 855 Library-Solution automation systems representing over 4,000 mainly public libraries across the country. TLC has 210 employees. The focus for all is to "deliver an unexpected level of customer support" unequaled in the industry. All employees are engaged in customer satisfaction from bottom to top. Current Technology Most recently in 2008/2009, TLC announced a new unified integrated library system (ILS) platform called LS2 that includes Web, client, and mobile interfaces for the OPAC, Circulation, and Cataloging modules.
