The Town of Mount Pleasant <br />provides pamphlets to residents that are available <br />at Town Hall and online. Since the last Plan <br />Update, Midland has discontinued circulating a <br />quarterly newsletter that provided residents <br />information on refuse collection and recycling due <br />to economic conditions. <br />Education for CII Establishments <br />As discussed under the recycling planning element, <br />Cabarrus County offers free on -site waste <br />assessments to businesses and provides assistance <br />in establishing recycling programs. The County <br />also provides information specifically tailored to <br />businesses on its web site such as oil filter <br />recycling. <br />As Cabarrus County does not have an ordinance <br />requiring recycling of certain materials by the CII <br />sector, education and outreach activities geared <br />toward this sector are critical to improve on the <br />overall recycling rate in Cabarrus County. <br />Education for Schools <br />The recycling coordinator visits local schools <br />during the year to provide presentations on <br />recycling and waste reduction. <br />As discussed under the reduction planning <br />2 . <br />a element, Cabarrus County has formed a <br />partnership with City of Concord Environmental <br />s Service and the Cabarrus County School District to <br />bring mixed -paper recycling to each school in the <br />district.
