Potential for 1000+
room nights.
• Finalized plans for the International Workshop on Anthocyanins 2011.
Worked closely with the NCRC to finalize plans and negotiated with the
Great Wolf Lodge to host the meeting.
• Attended Connect Marketplace in Louisville, KY and met with meeting
planners representing a variety of markets including: associations, sports,
corporate, and social groups. A site tour is being implemented to take
place this fall with potential for an annual meeting as well as several
RFP's received, resulting from appointments with planners.
• Scholastic Book Fair, definite for Great Wolf Lodge: Blocked a total of 102
room nights /122 picked up
• Showcased at ASAE, American society of American Executives - receiving
several prospects in the process
• Meeting Planners International Carolina's Chapters (September 15 - 17)
was a great success at the Great Wolf Lodge. Meeting planners and
suppliers networked over two days and a select few attended the GWL
tailgating party at the NHRA event at ZMAX Dragway.
• The Cabarrus County CVB Senior VP of Sales, Sports Sales Manager and
Sports Services Manager all attended the TEAMS (Travel Entertainment
And Management in Sports) October 19 -22 in Charlotte. We met and
networked with dozens of events rights holders from the following sports:
volleyball, disc golf, running races /duathlons, softball, field hockey,
airplane races, inline hockey, rugby and cheerleading /gymnastics /dance.
• Also, we enjoyed the fellowship of interacting with about 40 members of
Sports NC. Sports NC is comprised of sports managers from across the
state to form one large sports organization. Sports NC was a major
sponsor at TEAMS and allowed us to have over 100 appointments (as a
group) throughout the week. Sports NC captures all of the events rights
holder's contact and event information and sends it out to all participating
Sports NC Members. It is a great way to maximize lead opportunities.
Attachment number 1
Page 169
1 -2
