RESOLUTION <br />ABANDONMENT AND CLOSURE <br />OF A PORTION OF THE RIGHT OF WAY FOR <br />ATANDO ROAD (STATE ROAD NUMBER 2656) <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina State Road 2656 in Cabarrus County is known as Atando <br />Road, being a paved road approximately .80 miles in length, with the last .028 miles being the <br />portion requested to be abandoned; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus passed a <br />Resolution on July 19 2010 and requested that the above described portion of the road, the <br />location of which has been indicated on the attached map, be abandoned from the Secondary <br />Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation Board authorized the <br />abandonment of maintenance of .028 miles of Atando Road (SR 2656) during the October 2010 <br />meeting session; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of County Commissioners, at their regular <br />meeting on November 15 2010 at 6:30 PM, held a public hearing on their intention to close <br />.028 miles public right of way for Atando Road (SR 2656); and <br />WHEREAS, having received public input on the proposed closing at the meeting, the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners is of the opinion that the portion of the road to be <br />abandoned should be abandoned. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that .028 miles of public right of way for Atando <br />Road (SR 2656) be closed effective this 15 day of November, 2010. <br />H.
