Alternatively, the Charlotte MSA has a higher share of young <br />adults, aged 20 to 34. <br />3.2 Households <br />There are an estimated 6,350 households in the Planning Area, an increase of 72.1% since 2000 <br />(Table 3). The slightly higher growth rate in households over 69.8% for population indicates a <br />downward shift in average household size. Cabarrus County experienced a slower 33.7% growth <br />rate, from 49,519 households in 2000 to 66,228 households in 2009.
