CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 16, 2009 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Finance -Write-off of Ambulance Receivables for FY 2005 <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Article 9A (44-51.4) provides for the County to treat the amount due for <br />ambulance services the same as if it were a tax due to the county (G.S. <br />105-368). The County's policy is to keep three years of receivables plus <br />the current year's receivables on the General Ledger. This policy allows <br />the outstanding receivable balance of $486,389.78 for Fiscal Year 2005 <br />bills to be written off. The Ambulance Billing office has exhausted all <br />means of collections for the Fiscal Year 2005 bills. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to authorize the Finance Department to write off the outstanding <br />receivables for Fiscal Year 2005 ambulance bills. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Susan B.
