Cabarrus County Parks Department <br />Proposal to reduce Discovery Day Camp Fees and Expenditures for 2009 <br />In light of the economic downturn, the Parks Commission reviewed and approved the proposal to reduce fees for <br />Discovery Day Camp 2009 at their January 15, 2009 meeting. Highlights of the proposal: <br />o $765 if attending all 9 weeks and paying upfront ($855 at current fee - $90 savings) <br />o $1000 if paying by the week for all 9 weeks ($1125 at current fee - $125 savings) <br />o Multiple family members attending constitute a 15% savings if paying upfront <br />o No one time processing fee of $25 if paying by the week <br />o Only one discount will apply <br />o All other conditions of enrollment and payment apply <br />Fee Schedule <br />2008 Fee Per Week Pro osed Fee for 2009 If aid b <br />$ 95.00 $ 85.00 Aril 10, 2009 <br />$105.00 $100.00 Ma 10, 2009 <br />$115.00 $105.00 June 14, 2009 <br />$125.00 $110.00 After June 14 and a in b the week <br />NOTE: The only way to get the reduced per week fee is to pay for all weeks participant attends camp upfront. <br />2008 Breakdown <br />2008 Revenues $61,423.00 <br />2008 Ex enses $55,702.00 <br />2008 Partici ants 575 <br />Avera a number of Partici ants b week 63 <br />Number of siblin s 13 <br />Summary <br />Based on 2008 camp participants and using the proposed reduction, revenue would be approximately $51,000 or <br />$10,000 less than 2008. <br />If these proposed fee reductions are approved, expenses will be reduced to offset the loss in revenue. Exact figures <br />can't be determined until participants register.
