M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments -Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Article II, Section 5 of the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council's bylaws <br />state: "Any member who fails to attend at least 75% of the regular <br />meetings, except for excused illness or other extraordinary circumstance, <br />of the Council during any one year period shall be removed from said <br />Council by a majority vote." JCPC Chair Carolyn Carpenter has spoken <br />with JCPC member Reverend Aaron Wells, and due to scheduling <br />conflicts, he is unable to continue his service on the Council. The JCPC <br />voted at their February 18, 2009 meeting to remove Pastor Wells from the <br />Board and received a majority vote. Therefore, the Council recommends <br />to the Board of Commissioners that Reverend Aaron Wells be removed <br />for the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council roster.
