<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 16, 2009 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Emergency Medical Services -Approval of Lease Agreement (Kannapolis <br />Fire Station #5) <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />EMS #9 will be moving to the new Kannapolis Fire Station #5 on Barr Road in <br />Kannapolis. EMS #9 has been operating out of a residential structure for the <br />last two years waiting for the completion of the Kannapolis Fire Station. <br />Construction is now complete and the station is in operation. Total cost to <br />design and construct the building was $2,948,725.00. EMS will occupy <br />approximately 12.5% of the new structure approximately 1600 square feet). <br />This will result in the county's proportionate share of the cost to be <br />$368,591.00. The total amount is proposed to be paid in one lump sum in <br />return fora 50 year lease. The use of fund balance is requested for this <br />appropriation. <br />' REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the Lease Agreement between Cabarrus County and City <br />' of Kannapolis for the Ambulance Station to be located inside the Kannapolis <br />Fire Department #5.
