ADDITION TO CONSESNT AGENDA <br />~P~~ s oU~,~~~\ CABARRUS COUNTY <br />Q' 9 <br />4 <br />`' ~`` BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />`tio~N ~RO~~f- MAY 18, 2009 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Commerce -Proclamation Proclaiming June as National Homeownership Month <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus County supports homeownership countywide through various housing <br />programs. Cabarrus County is working with the Cities of Concord and Kannapolis, <br />Prosperity Unlimited and First Assembly to provide a housing forum on June 6th at Suite <br />15 at First Assembly from 8:30-1:00 pm. There will be representatives from HUD, <br />Congressman Kissell's Office, state and local housing agencies, lending institutions, Legal <br />Aid, Cooperative Christian Ministries, Department of Social Services, and Rowan <br />Cabarrus Community College. Housing Counselors will be on site to review loan <br />documents to help individuals in need of loan modifications or those facing foreclosure. <br />Later sessions in the day will focus on first time homebuyers and tools available to them. <br />Fair Housing administrators will be available for questions as well. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt proclamation. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Kelly Sifford, AICP Community Development <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />No <br />F-11 <br />
