Ms. Mynatt and Mr. Newberry were reappointed by the <br />Cabarrus County Commissioners on May 23, 2005. <br />Cynthia Mynatt <br />Ms. Cynthia Mynatt is an active and well-respected community leader, and we are very <br />pleased to have her as a member of our board of trustees. Ms. Mynatt serves as the <br />Vice Chair of the board and as a director of the RCCC Foundation. She is willing to be <br />reappointed. Ms. Mynatt is a member of the Building & Grounds Committee, the <br />Personnel Committee, the Institutional Advancement Committee, and the Executive <br />Committee. We respectfully request that Cynthia Mynatt be reappointed at your next <br />meeting scheduled on May 18, 2009. <br />Irvin Newberry <br />Mr. Irvin Newberry has been a member of the board and a director of the RCCC <br />Foundation since 1998. He is a member of the Finance Committee and Executive <br />Committee, and serves as the Chair of the Building & Grounds Committee. He has long <br />been an active community leader. Irvin Newberry is willing to serve, and we respectfully <br />request that he be reappointed at your next meeting. <br />Several years ago we addressed the fact that the Cabarrus County policy of limiting <br />service on boards to six years does not apply to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, <br />which is a separate autonomous entity and does not have the same relationship to the <br />County Commission as other agencies, which are primarily supported by county funds. <br />In community college governance, there is no restriction on the number of terms that a <br />trustee can serve regardless of whether that trustee is appointed by the governor, the <br />school board, or the commissioners.
