Our services were performed in generai <br />conformance with our proposal number 08-09-39, dated September 16, 2008 as authorized by you on <br />II September 18, 2008. The Phase 1 ESA was performed in generai accordance with ASTM E 1527-05, <br />' i l which addresses the "All Appropriate Inquiry' (AAf) rule for persons seeking to qualify for a CERCLA <br />Landowner Liability Protection (LLP). The executive summary That follows is presented for convenience <br />J only. While the executive summary is an integral part of this report, it should not be used in lieu of~ <br />reading the entire report. <br />1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />,J CESI conducted a Phase 1 ESA for property located near the intersection of Wallace Road and <br />Highway 601• in Midland, North Carolina. -The ESA was conducted in accordance with the American <br />Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E 1527 05, Standard Practice for Environmental Site <br />Assessments: Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment Process. <br />1 • The subject site is identified as a portion of Cabarrus County parcel number 5544636383 and all <br />of parcel numbers 5544646749 and 5544724095 as Indicated on Appendix A, Drawing 1. The <br />subject site Is located near the intersection of Wallace Road and Highway 601 in Midland, <br />Cabarrus County, North Carolina and encompasses approximately 190 acres. The approximate <br />location of the site is depicted on the USGS quadrangle presented as Appendix A, Drawing 2. <br />• • The majority of the subject site consists of pasture and woodland. Aluminum cans and a stuffed <br />chair were observed within fhe wooded area in the northern portion of the subject site {Appendix <br />• C, Photo 1). A playhouse consisting of a tin roof with tarp walls filled with stuffed chairs and a <br />compressed gas stove was observed within the wooded area in the northern part of the subject <br />site.
