Section 00020 <br />Advertisement for Bids <br />Notice is given hereby that sealed proposals will be received by the Cabarrus County <br />Commissioners up to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2009 in the Commissioners' Room on the <br />second floor of the Governmental Center, 65 Church St., SE, Concord, N.C. and immediately <br />thereafter publicly opened and read for the furnishing of labor, materials, and equipment for the <br />Alterations to the Cabarrus County Courthouse, Concord, N.C. <br />Bids shall be received as follows: <br />Single Prime Bids will be received for General Contract which will include all of the work. <br />Plans for bidding will be issued as follows: <br />a. General contract bidders shall be issued two composite sets of plans and specifications <br />including HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical. <br />Complete plans, specifications and contract documents will be open for inspection in the Office <br />of the Architect, Griffin Architecture, P.A., 5 Union Street, South, Concord, North Carolina <br />Plan Deposit <br />Bidders may receive two copies of the bid documents listed above upon payment of a $100.00 <br />deposit ($50.00 per set), completely refundable for each set returned to the Architect, postpaid, in <br />satisfactory and useable condition, within 10 days after the bid opening. <br />Additional copies of the plans and specifications may be secured by a bidder upon payment of <br />$50.00 per set, non-refundable. <br />All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the State laws <br />governing their respective trades. <br />Each proposal shall be accompanied by a deposit of cash or certified check on some bank or trust <br />company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to 5% of the <br />gross amount of the Proposal. In lieu thereof, such bidders may file a bid bond executed in <br />accordance with conditions as prescribed by GS 143-129 as amended. The deposit shall be <br />retained if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within 10 days after the award or <br />fails to give satisfactory surety as required by law. <br />A Performance Bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) for the Contract Price and <br />a Payment Bond will be required for one Hundred percent (100%) of the contract Price. Form of <br />bonds shall be A.I.A.
