The APFO worksheet filled out by Mr. Robert Kluttz with Cabarrus County Schools indicates that
schools impacted by The Mills at Rocky River Subdivision are currently functioning at the
following capacities:
Rocky River Elementary School - 112.11
C.C. Griffin Middle School - 129.11
Central Cabarrus High School - 83.31
Note: The percentages are based on the enrollment figures from June 10, 2009.
Including previously approved subdivisions, these schools will be functioning at the following
capacity upon completion of The Mills at Rocky River Subdivision project:
Rocky River Elementary School - 216.03%
C.C. Griffin Middle School - 199.40%
Hickory Ridge High School - 106.97%
In the Capital Improvement Plan, Patriot's Elementary School is listed for FY 2009 funding to
relieve Rocky River, Bethel, and Harrisburg elementary schools. Hickory Ridge Middle School is
also listed for FY 2009 funding to relieve C.C. Griffin Middle School. The Cabarrus County 2010
budget includes issuing debt for these two projects.
Based on growth projections, another elementary school south of Harrisburg will be needed. A
new high school in the west/central area will also be needed. Funding has not been identified, nor
land secured, however, for these projects.
Cabarrus County Schools operating at 110% capacity are considered to be operating at the
maximum capacity.
The Subdivision Lot Inventory has been updated through July 2009.
2
Attachmentnumber1
G-3
