Box 708 <br />Concord, NC 28026 <br />Re: Rierson to McLaughlin <br />Premises: 6308 Professional Drive, Harrisburg, NC 28075 <br />Dear Sirs or Madames: <br />I am a real estate attorney in Midland and, in that context, handled a closing on the above- <br />referenced premises on April 17, 2009. At that time, a deed from the current owner, Charles W. Rierson, <br />Jr., unmarried, into the purchaser, April L. McLaughlin, unmarried, was recorded at 10:54 a.m. on April 17, <br />2009 in Book 8682 at page 219. Deed stamps in the amount of $236.00 were paid at that time by the <br />purchaser. A copy of the Deed and the recording receipt are enclosed herewith. <br />Thereafter, it .vas learned that the lot number, although correct in the "Brief Description" portion <br />of the deed, was incorrect in the body of the deed. Anew deed, with the correct legal description in the <br />body of the deed, was executed by the then owners, Charles W. Rierson, Jr. and wife, Susan Dawson <br />Rierson and the new deed was submitted for recording. This correction Deed was recorded at 03:16 p.m. <br />on June 25, 2009 in Book 8791 at page 72. At the time of the second recording, deed stamps were <br />mistakenly paid once again, this time by the undersigned. A copy the correction Deed and the recording <br />receipt are also enclosed. <br />As deed stamps were already paid at the time of the recording of the first (albeit incorrect) deed, <br />they should not have been paid when the correction deed was recorded. Consequently, it is respectfully <br />requested that the second payment of deed stamps be refunded to the undersigned. <br />Thank you for your anticipated assistance in correcting this matter. <br />Very truly yours, <br />C.J.
