c, <br />CABARRUS COUNT <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIO <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 21, 20C <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments -Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The terms of appointments end for the following JCPC members: Terry <br />_ W. Triplett (Police Chief /designee), Jane Cauthen (DSS Director / <br />designee), Kalesha Kennedy (County Manager /designee), Fantasia <br />Piedra (Student under 18 years of age), Sam Yow (Student under 18 <br />years of age), Terri Stancil (Member of Business Community), Erin K. <br />Shoe (Local Health Director /designee), Troy W. Barnhardt (at-large), <br />Dawn Thomas (at-large), and Marta Meares (at-large). All desire <br />reappointment except the two students. These two positions will be filled <br />in the near future and the JCPC Chair requests their names be removed <br />from the roster. <br />Exceptions to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy <br />are needed for Mr. Triplett and Mr. Barnhardt as both have served for six <br />consecutive years or more. An exception to the "residency" provision of <br />the Appointment Policy is needed for Kalesha Kennedy. <br />Randy Daniels with the Parks Department resigned from the Council on <br />August 17. It is recommended that Ben Sharpe, also with the Parks <br />Department, be appointed to complete an unexpired term ending <br />September 30, 2010.
