CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 16, 2009 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager -Approval of Time Warner's Request to Extend Existing <br />Fiber Optic Conduit/Cable on the Concord Library Property <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Time Warner Cable (TWC) has requested to extend the existing fiber optic <br />conduit/cable currently located on the Concord Library property. They are <br />proposing to extend the current line an additional 66 feet and install a new <br />24" x 36" vault to enhance their service capabilities for their Verizon <br />Wireless account that currently has communication equipment attached to <br />the Concord Water Tower adjacent to this site. TWC has offered to <br />relocate the county's existing fiber connection and provide a new 14' x 24" <br />vault on the exterior of the library for the county's use and to facilitate the <br />upfit of the loading dock area. A diagram of the proposed work is <br />included. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the aforementioned request and grant Time Warner <br />Cable (TWC) permission to complete the work as described above. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Mike Downs, Deputy County Manager <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />No <br />F-3 <br />Page 50 <br />
