RESOLUTION <br />ESTABLISHING THE REGULAR MEETING SCHEDULE <br />FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2010 <br />WHEREAS, the regular agenda work sessions of the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners are currently held <br />on the first Monday of each month at 3:30 p.m. in the <br />Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the regular meetings of the Board of Commissioners are held on the <br />third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the <br />Governmental Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday requires a change in the regular <br />meeting date in January 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, scheduling conflicts associated with the New Years Day holiday, <br />necessitates a change in the agenda work session meeting date in January 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, the Independence Day and the Labor Day holidays requires a <br />change in the agenda work session meeting dates in July and September 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board holds an annual goal-setting/planning retreat in the winter <br />which is tentatively scheduled for February 26-27 at Camp T. N. Spencer; and <br />WHEREAS, budget workshops are held annually and are tentatively scheduled <br />for May 25, 26 and 27, 2010, ,from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the <br />Governmental Center; and <br />WHEREAS, `thee. Board may attend the following conferences/gatherings and <br />desires to give the public ample notice: <br />• NACo Legislative Conference in Washington, DC on March 6-10, 2010; <br />•NCACC County Assembly Day in Raleigh, NC on May 19 <br />• NACo Annual: Conference in Reno, NV on July 16 - 20, 2010; <br />•NCACC Annual Conference in Greenville, NC on August 26-29, 2010; <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 153A-26 requires that the Board <br />hold an organizational meeting the first Monday in December for each even numbered <br />year; and <br />WHEREAS, on the first Monday in December of even numbered years, it is <br />customary to hold a reception and swearing-in ceremony at the Governmental Center <br />honoring incoming and outgoing elected officials prior to the commencement of the <br />organizational meeting; and <br />F-1 <br />Attachment number 1 <br />Page 47 <br />
