Withdrawal of a Member: Any member of the Council may withdraw or terminate its <br />membership on the Council effective at the end of any fiscal year June 30 by notifying all <br />members of the Council of its intent to terminate its membership. Such notice shall consist of a <br />certified copy of the resolution of withdrawal of the governing body of the member. The notice <br />shall be deposited in the U.S. Mail, postage prepaid, and addressed to the delegate of each of the <br />other members, not later than January 1 of the fiscal year for which the member's withdrawal is <br />to be effective. A member withdrawing shall not be entitled to any rebate for the current fiscal <br />year. Proper notice of withdrawal may not be waived by the Council; and upon the failure of <br />such member to give the prescribed notice in compliance with the law of North Carolina, and the <br />Charter and these Bylaws, such member shall continue to be a member until proper notice is <br />given and it shall be responsible for the payment of any subsequent annual dues and/or <br />assessments until such withdrawal is properly affected. <br />General Statute <br />§ 160A-474. Withdrawal from council. <br />Any member government may withdraw from a regional council at the end of any <br />fiscal year by giving at least 60 days' written notice to each of the other members. <br />Withdrawal of a member government shall not dissolve the council if at least two <br />members remain.
