CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 21, 2009 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments -Department of Aging Advisory Board <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The terms of appointment for the following members of the Department of <br />Aging Advisory Board expire December 31: Robin Swaringen, Jr., Frank <br />Whitley, Nancy Yates, Alleane S. Reeves and Theodore R. Drain. The <br />Advisory Board recommends: (1) the reappointments of Robin <br />Swaringen, Ted Drain and Frank Whitley to 3-year terms ending <br />December 31, 2012; and (2) the appointment of Char Solomon and Tom <br />Kurzel to 3-year terms ending December 31, 2012. Mr. Drain also serves <br />on the Region F Aging Advisory Committee; therefore, an exception to <br />provision A-1 (Service on Multiple Boards) of the Appointment Policy is <br />requested. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to reappoint Robin G. Swaringen, Jr., Frank Whitley and Ted Drain <br />to the Department of Aging Advisory Board for 3-year terms ending <br />December 31, 2012, including an exception to the Appointment Policy <br />(Provision A-1) for Mr. Drain. <br />Motion to appoint Thomas Kurzel and Char Solomon to the Department of <br />Aging Advisory Board for 3-year terms ending December 31, 2012, <br />Acknowledge the service of Nancy Yates (two years) and Alleane S. <br />Reeves (six years) on this Board. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />1 Minute <br />H-1 Page 271 <br />
