CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 1/7/08 Agenda Item # ~-2 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Sheriffs Department -Request for a Clerical Records Position to be Shared with the <br />Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) & Adoption of Related Budget Amendment <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />This FT position is a joint request and partnership between the Sheriffs Offices and the <br />JCPC. Carolyn Carpenter, JCPC Chair, requested assistance and has approved funding <br />for a PT records clerk, but lacks office space and administrative oversight. The Sheriffs <br />Office has a need for a records clerk, not funded in the 2008 budget, and is willing to share <br />a position with the JCPC. JCPC has approved funding which will end June 30, 2008 and <br />will aggressively seek continual funding of this position each year.
