Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />Board of Directors Meeting <br />December 13, 2007 Minutes <br />LOCATION: Cabarrus County CVB, Kannapolis, NC <br />The December 13, 2007 Board of Directors meeting was called to order at i3:15am by Chairperson <br />Frank Lapsley. <br />IN ATTENDANCE WERE: <br />Board Members: Diane Honeycutt John Mills Staff: DeSales Wagster <br />Garrett Jenio Frank Lapsley Linda Collins <br />Joni Juba Terry Crawford Sharon Campbell <br />John Cox Dan Farrell Erin Ploplis <br /> Lindsey Wallace <br />Guests: Josh McCann, Independent Tribune Cordelia Anderson <br />Adam Bell, Cabarrus Neighbors Kate Parker <br />Mike Downs, Cabarrus County Deputy Mgr. Linda Blackwell <br />Noelle Scott, Cabarrus Arts Council Scott Aldrich <br />Alan Cress, Irish Creek Golf Course Ian Starowicz <br />Rick Fedrizzi, Richard Petty Driving Experience <br />Welcome of Guests: <br />Frank Lapsley welcomed the guests to the meeting. <br />DeSales Wagster introduced Ed McWilliams of Reach Market Planning. A presentation was given to <br />the board explaining the strategic plan, goals and objectives and program of work for the CVB in the <br />upcoming year. <br />Minutes <br />A motion was made by Diane Honeycutt with a second by Terry Crawford to approve the minutes <br />from the October 24, 2007 regular board meeting as submitted. Motion carried. <br />Financials <br />Frank Lapsley presented the financials for October and November, 2007. A motion was made by <br />Joni Juba with a second by John Mills to accept the financials as submitted. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Diane Honeycutt with a second by Terry Crawford to increase the hotel <br />occupancy tax by 1%. Motion Carried. <br />Manastement Report <br />DeSales Wagster presented the management report with the following highlights: <br />• The hotel occupancy tax collected has been higher than budgeted through November. <br />• THE CVB will be sending an a-card for the holidays to further promote and market the county. <br />The sales staff each reported to the board on the trade shows they have attended in the past month <br />and projects they are working on.
