CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 1/22/08 Agenda Item # ~-'~j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Independent Contractor versus Employee Job Status <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />During 2007, there have been many discussions and presentations among governmental <br />entities in the area of status of independent contractors versus employees. It has been <br />determined that several independent contractors retained by the County should actually be <br />paid via payroll. (See attached memo for more detail.)
