4. Departmental Responsibilities/School Park Facilities: <br />a. The Facilities and Operations Director for Cabarrus County Schools will have <br />responsibility for providing maintenance and repairs (as more fully defined below) for all <br />school park facilities. The Director is also authorized to enter into agreements with third <br />parties for maintenance and repairs of school park facilities. <br />b. Reimbursement Rate -All costs of maintenance and repairs completed at school park sites <br />will be reimbursed to Cabarrus County Schools by Cabarrus County for all labor (time <br />and half rating) plus materials and rental equipment expense for equipment not owned by <br />the school system. Mileage will also be billed at the rate of $.40 per mile due to the <br />increase in the cost of gasoline. In the case of third party agreements Cabarrus County <br />will be billed for actual invoice costs including all applicable taxes. <br />c. The maintenance and repairs services provided by the department shall include, but are not <br />limited to: <br />1) Athletic Turf Improvement-this service shall include bi-annual seeding, fertilizing, <br />irrigation repairs/winterization and associated irrigation wells/holding tanks, <br />weeding, aerations, topdressing, of all school/park athletic fields. Mowing and <br />trimming turf elements are performed in the regular maintenance and repair <br />agreement. <br />2) This agreement does not include athletic field work, such as lining, dragging, care of <br />bases, nets, goals, etc. <br />3) Athletic Facilities -This maintenance/repair service shall include fencing, <br />restrooms/concession buildings, press boxes, bleachers risers, scoreboards, athletic <br />field lights, sidewalks, parking lots/roadway and utilities. <br />4) Buildings Exteriors -This service shall include dugouts, concession/restrooms and <br />press box buildings, painting, siding, roofing, leaks, steps, locks, doors, walls, <br />gutters, parking lots, roads, sidewalks, etc. <br />5) Interior to Buildings -This service shall include plumbing, HVAC, painting, repairs <br />to ceilings, walls, and floors, electrical (whether indoors or outdoors) and safety <br />equipment. <br />d.. Cabarrus County Responsibilities <br />1) All non-emergency work requests shall be submitted by work order request from the <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department to the Director of Facilities and <br />Operations of Cabarrus County Schools via the School Dude Maintenance <br />Management System (software application). All EMERGENCY and HEALTH <br />AND SAFETY type work orders will be called in by telephone or Nextel radio to <br />the dispatch area of the Facilities & Operations Department. <br />2) A copy of all work orders and associated account invoices will be forwarded to the <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department within (30) thirty days for their <br />record of expenditures from the Parks & Recreation Maintenance Account. <br />~~ <br />
