CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 6/16/08 Agenda Item # G " <br />SUBJECT: <br />Request from Cabarrus County Parks Commission to Adopt a Resolution Supporting the <br />Carolina Thread Trail <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Carolina Thread Trail (CTT) is an initiative to develop a 15 county trail network that will <br />eventually connect 2.3 million people, with over 40 destinations, and 7300 square miles. <br />CTT organizers say it will assist in promoting tourism, serve as an alternative means of <br />transportation, encourage healthy lifestyles, promote conservation of natural and wildlife <br />habitats, aid in fresh air and clean water preservation, and create a sustainable Carolinas <br />legacy for generations to come.
