CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 6/16/08 Agenda Item #~ s <br />SUBJECT: <br />Approval of Contract for the Compass Appointments Software Application by Piggybacking <br />Cleveland County's Bid <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />This software application will assist the Department of Social Services to better serve <br />citizens by directing the customer flow from the front desk, allowing a central repository for <br />all calendars, automation of client check-in, appointment schedules, balance the <br />assignment of appointments among case workers, and automatically notify case workers of <br />their scheduled appointments. By using this application, the Department will see improved <br />communication between reception and case workers, shorter lines in the lobby, and more <br />processes that are able to be standardized, which will yield many needed efficiencies. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />1. Motion to approve piggyback purchase from Cleveland County (May 2008) for Compass <br />Appointments Software contract in the amount of $236,793.10 and adopt budget <br />amendment to transfer funds from within the department for this purpose. <br />2.
