• Environmental issues are mostly associated
with. soils and water quality. Concerns are
being raised about water quality degraded by
sediment as a result of increasing stortnwater
runoff eroding soils, particularly on denuded
sites cleared for development purposes, and
ca~~rying such pollutants into area streams and
rivers.
The outcome of the analyses conducted was utilized
later in the planning process to determine the most
appropriate direction for future growth and
development (see Section 3.0), to develop a plan that
is a retlection of the community's desires (see Section
4.0) and to pinpoint specific action steps to
implement the plan (see Section 5.0). With the
exception of demographics, the resulting plan
addresses all of the elements discussed in this section.
2.2 C3emographics
An estimated 21,332 residents were present in the study area in 2007, 23:.7% more than
the 17,239 in 2000.
