The broad planning ideas, goals and objectives provide <br />the support, or "framework," used as the basis for <br />developing land use and growth management solutions. <br />From the existing conditions assessment, and <br />importantly, direct feedback from the Advisory <br />Committee and measured community feedback, the <br />following broad framework elements were established. for <br />the Central Area Ptan. These framework elements weee <br />used to guide the creation and evaluation of plane <br />alternatives. <br />d+ Protect large portions of the northern and southern area as rural and/or <br />agricultural in character <br />++~ Where infrastructure is supportive, estabiisha rational, non-sprawling pattern <br />of low density development, and where appropriate, rural, suburban and <br />neighborhood village clustering. <br />Focus: activity centers at-Jogicel intersections and discourage commercial strip <br />development <br />~+ Enaourags light-industrialand other employment. centers within the west- <br />central portion of the study>area where roadway connections and' adjacent land <br />uses are supportive <br />•?
