CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 8/18/08 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Agenda Item # F- ~ <br />Finance -Approval of Title Transfer on Property at School Bus Garage and Agency Lease <br />Agreements Related to the Construction of the Bus Garage Facility <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />On June 9, 2008, the Cabarrus County Board of Education approved transferring title to <br />the land at the School Bus Garage site to the County to enable the County to receive sales <br />tax refunds on the construction project. Associated with this process is the execution of <br />Agency Lease Agreements between Cabarrus County and Cabarrus County Board of <br />Education allowing Cabarrus County Board of Education to lease the property until the <br />construction/financing of the project is completed. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />1) Motion to approve the title transfer on property held by Cabarrus County Board of <br />Education to Cabarrus County and direct the County Attorney to work with the Board of <br />Education's attorney to execute the transfer; and 2) Approve the Agency and Lease <br />Agreements, subject to attorney review. <br />Attachments ^X Yes ^ No Expected Length of Presentation <br />Submitted By: Pamela S.
