CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 8/18/08 Agenda Item # ~-`~ <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments -Tourism Authority <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Due to the change in term expirations for members of the Tourism Authority, appointments <br />or reappointments are needed for Seats 1, 2 and 3. Seat No. 1 is an "at-large" position. <br />The Board of Commissioners may appoint a person whomever they deem appropriate. <br />Seat No. 2 represents the Tourism Authority and Seat No. 3 represents the Cabarrus <br />Regional Chamber of Commerce. Recommendations from both entities are provided. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion it the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />1. Motion to appoint or reappoint a member to the Tourism Authority to fill Seat No. 1 (an <br />"at-large" position) fora 3-year term ending June 30, 2011. <br />2. Motion to appoint or reappoint a member to the Tourism Authority to fill Seat No. 2 <br />(representing the Tourism Authority) fora 3-year term ending June 30, 2011. <br />3.
