CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 22, 2008 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Parks Dept. -Approval of Matching Incentive Grant Requests - Phase 2 for <br />FY 08-09 and Adoption of Related Budget Amendment <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />On August 19, 2008, the Cabarrus County Parks Commission reviewed four <br />Matching Incentive Grant requests for Phase 2 and recommends the following <br />projects be approved for FY 08-09: <br />Grantee Amount Pur ose <br />Fred L. Wilson Elementary <br />School $4,607 Picnic Shelter and Gazebo <br />Weddin ton Hills PTO $2,000 Nature Trail & Track Enhancements <br /> Install timers for existing field lights at Pitts <br />Harrisbur Youth Association $12,300 School Elementa School Parks. <br /> Installation of backstops, batting cages, <br /> netting and benches at Cox Mill Elementary <br />Odell Recreation Association $16,418 School Park. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the Phase 2 Matching Incentive Grant projects as <br />recommended by the Parks Commission and adopt related budget <br />amendment. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Londa Strong, Parks Director <br />Item# 15 <br />Page 108 of 199 <br />
