CABARRUS COUNTY <br />B RD F MMI I NER <br />OA O CO SS O S <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 17, 2008 <br />6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />EMS -Ambulance Piggyback Purchase and Budget Amendment <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Request to award the purchase of three (3) new Type III ambulances to <br />Southeastern Specialty Vehicles, Inc. by piggybacking a bid awarded <br />previously by Rockingham County, North Carolina. The purchase price per <br />unit will be $102,000 each (a savings of $17,000 per unit below Rockingham <br />County's awarded cost). The purchase of two new ambulances plus one <br />remount was approved in the Fiscal Year 2009 budget. A budget amendment <br />is included to request appropriation of fund balance of $36,776 - <br />received 6/9/08 from insurance funds for a wrecked ambulance. Because of <br />the wrecked vehicle and receipt of the insurance funds, the funds for the <br />remount budgeted will be added to the insurance funds to purchase a new <br />vehicle instead of having one remounted.
