Election of Officers: A motion was made by Diane Honeycutt with a second by John Cox to re-elect Sharon Campbell as Chair and to elect Frank Lapsley as Vice-Chair to the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for the year 2007. Motion carried. Nominating Committee: Diane Honeycutt reported the nominating committee met and made the following recommendations for upcoming board seat appointments expiring on December 31, 2006: Seat #4- Cabarrus County Commissioner or County Manager Seat #5- Terry Crawford, Garrett Jenio, Rick Fedrizzi Seat #2- Garrett Jenio, Terry Crawford, Rick Fedrizzi A motion to accept the recommendations as presented was made by Diane Honeycutt with a second by John Mills. Motion carried. Request for Additional Staffing_ DeSales presented a request for an additional position of Convention Services Manager. After discussion, a motion to hire a Convention Services Manager at a salary not to exceed $32,000 was made by Frank Lapsley with a second by John Mills. Motion Carried. A motion was made to transfer $21,000 from the existing unappropriated fund balance to be proportioned between the salaries and other line items as necessary to cover all associated costs of the position of Convention Services Manager for the balance of this fiscal year. Motion carried Board Retreat: DeSales Wagster presented a budget to the board for a retreat to be held in January, 2007. After discussion, a motion was made by John Cox with a second by Diane Honeycutt to transfer $4000 from the unappropriated fund balance to the "Other Operating Expense" line item cover the costs associated with a board retreat to be held early in 2007. Motion carried. Great Race Update: Libba Barrineau reported that a press conference will be held today, December 6, 2006 at 10:OOam to announce Concord as the kick off city for the Great American Race on June 30, 2007. Management Report DeSales Wagster~presented the management report for the month of November. Included were the following items: . Sample reports from CVBTV showing leads, bookings and other statistical information useful to the CVB. . Website activity has increased dramatically with the implementation of CVBTV and the new website. . 2007 Legislative goals from the NC Convention & Visitors Bureaus. Committee ReRorts The grant committee presented the following grant and recommendation: North Carolina Youth Soccer Association- $2670 per grant guidelines. After discussion, a motion to approve was made by Frank Lapsley with a second by Diane Honeycutt. Motion carried. Product Development Committee Report; ~~ 12/11 /2006
