***EXISSING*** <br />• Chapter Eleven Signage <br />Certain types of signs do not require a sign permit, however, these signs are <br />still subject to all other regulations contained within this Ordinance unless <br />specifically stated otherwise. No permits are required for the following: <br />" Signs placed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. <br />" Incidental signs. <br />" Non-illuminated signs not exceeding two per lot nor 2 square feet in <br />area per sign of a noncommercial nature and bearing only property <br />identification numbers and names, post office box numbers and <br />names of occupants of the premises. <br />" Flags and insignia and signs of any government, when displayed in <br />connection with a noncommercial activity. One flag of the United <br />States (not to exceed 6' x 10') displayed in connection with a <br />commercial activity. <br />Legal notices, identification and informational signs and traffic <br />directional signs erected by or on behalf of a governmental body. <br />Integral decorative or architectural features of buildings, except <br />letters, trademarks, moving parts or moving lights. <br />" On-premise signs directing and guiding traffic on private property, <br />not exceeding 2 square feet each. Examples are "Enter", "Exit", etc. <br />Subdivision sale signs, not exceeding 32 square feet in area and <br />limited to 2 single-faced signs or 1 double-faced sign at each point of <br />ingress/egress, giving the name of residential subdivision, multiple <br />family housing development, or mobile home court, the pricing <br />information and name, address, and phone number of sales <br />agent/developer. Such signage must be removed when certificates of <br />occupancy have been issued for 95% of the subdivision's units. <br />11-5 <br />G-5 <br />
