CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 3/26/07 Agenda Item # G -(p <br />SUBJECT: <br />Request for Additional Land for School Bus Garage <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus County Schools are planning a new bus garage at the site of the site of the <br />current facility off Union Cemetery Road. They have retained an architect for the project, <br />which is budgeted for this fiscal year and the next, and created a schematic design. The <br />design coupled with parking needs and unusable land have led to a request for additional <br />property. The request would extend the bus garage area to the back of the smaller <br />buildings on the former fairground site and would reduce the area that the County is <br />currently marketing.
