<br />MIDLAND VOLUNTEER FIRE, AND RESCI~,, INC. <br />Posr OFFICE Box 226 • 12805 US HicHwnv 601 • Miou,NO, NC 28107 <br />Mazch 8, 2007 <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners: <br />We are asking to be included on the agenda for the next Board of Commissioners Work Session <br />for consideration on an interest free loan for the new, second station for Midland Volunteer Fire <br />& Rescue, Inc. <br />A short overview for the request is as follows: <br />This will help to keep citizen's Fu•e insurance rates down, some will drop to a class 10 <br />rating, non-protected by fire services. <br />This will take effect 7/1/07 and will not replace the existing statiosbut will be building a <br />new station at a more logistical location out of necessity. <br />This was brought to our attention in August 2005 by the Office of State Fire Marshal and <br />was recommended that this be done within short time constraints. <br />The building of the station at this location will alleviate the problem at hand. <br />The land is already purchased and civil engineering has been done. <br />$120,000.00 has already been invested in this. <br />McGee Brothers have committed to donating all of the labor for the masonry work. <br />We aze currently seeking donations from others.
