North Carolina <br />Cabarrus County <br />Resolution <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office has been statutorily vested with <br />the responsibility of approving and issuing gun permits for the residents of Cabarrus <br />County for a fee set by the State Legislature. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners are responsible for providing a book in <br />accordance with North Carolina General Statue 14-405 to record all licenses or permits, <br />including the name, date, place of residence, age, former place of residence, etc., of <br />each such person, firm, or corporation to whom or which a license or permit is issued. <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 14-405, the <br />Sheriff's office has maintained ahard-bound book of gun permit information and <br />maintained this information in an electronic data storage system; <br />WHEREAS, the annual cost of replacing the hard-bound book is approximately <br />$700.00, <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Sheriff shall maintain gun permit <br />information in an electronic data storage system in lieu of a hard-bound book that was <br />provided by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. The electronic data storage <br />shall include all licenses or permits issued under this resolution, including the name, <br />date, place of residence, age, former place of residence, etc., of each such person, firm, <br />or corporation to whom or which a license or permit is issued. <br />Adopted this the 26th day of March, 2007. <br />By: <br />Robert W.
