CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 3/26/07 <br />Agenda Item # r- <br />SUBJECT: <br />Sheriffs Department -Budget Amendment (Receipt of Justice Assistance Grant Funds - <br />$24,002) <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />This budget amendment is to appropriate Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funds in the <br />amount of $24,002 to the Sheriffs budget. These funds will be received from the US <br />Department of Justice Edward Byrne Memorial Grant Program. The Sheriffs Office will be <br />able to purchase a bullet recovery system for the firing range. The system will eliminate <br />the need for officers to transport seized guns back and forth from the National Integrated <br />Ballistics Indentification Network in Hickory.
