(21) Interfering solids. Any waters or wastes containing suspended solids of such character and quality <br />that unusual attention or expense is required to handle such materials at the POTW. <br />(22) Color. Any wastewater which imparts color and passes throuPh the POTW treatment plant, wHisH <br />, including, but noC limited to, dye wastes and vegetable <br />tanning solutions, which consequently imparts sufficient color to the treatment planPs efFluent therebv <br />violatin~v State or Federal regulations pertaining to the effluent from the plant or the receivine <br />water. <br />(23) Pretreatment sludges. Any removed substances to include. but not be limited to, sludges, screenings <br />or other residues from the pretreatment of wastewater.-in~ustfia~wastes. <br />(24) Medical wastes. Any medical wastes, except as specifically authorized by the Executive Director in a <br />wastewater dischazge permit. <br />(25) Ammonia compounds. Any material containing ammonia, ammonia salts, or other chelating agents <br />which will produce metallic complexes that interfere with the wastewater treatment system. <br />(26) Hazardous waste. Any material that would be identified as hazardous waste according to 40 CFR <br />Part 261 if not disposed of in a sewer except as may be specifically authorized by the Executive <br />Director. <br />(27) Human or animal parts. Recognizable portions of the human or animal anatomy. <br />(28) Toxicity. Wastewater causing, alone or in conjunction with other sources, the treatment plan4s <br />effluent to fail a toxicity tast. <br />(29) Excessive foaming. Any wastes containing detergents, surface active agents, or other substances <br />which may cause excessive foaming in the wastewater treatment system. <br />(30) Explosive limit. At no time, shall rivo successive readings on an explosion hazard meter, at the point <br />of dischazge into the system (or at any point in the system) be more than five percent (5%) nor any <br />single reading over ten percent (10%) of the lower explosive limit (LEL) of the meter. <br />(31) Discharge oTluntreated wastewater. Within the boundaries of WSACC, it shall be unlawful for any <br />person to dischazge to any outlet, other than a sanitaty sewer, any domestic or indushial waste except <br />where suitabld treatrnent has been provided in accordance with provisions of this ordinance or where <br />an appropriate NPDES permit has been obtained. <br />(32) Alkyl PhenoFEthoxylates (APEs). Any compounds containing APEs shall be prohibited due to the <br />inhibiting and toxic effect of APEs on the biological treatment at the POTW. Lineaz alcohol <br />ethoarylates, a more readily biodegradable surFactant, may be substituted for APEs. <br />(33) Equipment d~ma~e. Mv wastewater containine chemicals. either singv or by interaction with other <br />chemicals. to cause onerational nroblems or damaee to the POTW process equinment and/or <br />collection svstem. <br />( c) Pollutants, substances, wastewater, or other wastes prohibited by this section shall not be processed or stored in <br />16 <br />~~~ <br />
