Solicitation. The County will reasonably assist the Schools with soliciting the <br />support, both physically and monetarily, of other local govemmental agencies <br />(i.e., ARC of Cabarrus County, Piedmont Rehabilitation Developrnent Center, <br />YMCA, Cabamts Workshop, Cabarrus County Group Homes, Concord Parks <br />and Recreation Department, and other deparhnents within the County <br />structure). <br />4. Compensatjon. The County will compensate the Schools for its services by <br />funding the salary and benefits of one (1) staff inember for each of the five (5) <br />years of this Agreement. The fee for each year will be paid in advance to the <br />Schools on or before July 15 of each respective year. However, in the event <br />this Agreement is terminated during a fiscal year by the Schools, the Schools <br />shall promptly reimburse the County for any unused fees on a prorata basis. <br />In any year during the term of this Agreement, if it should appear that the <br />annual compensation is insuff'icient for the operation of the Program, then the <br />Schools may request additional funding from the County, subject to the <br />approval of the Board of County Commissioners and the Board of Education. <br />Additional funds may be requested for operational costs throughout the budget <br />process. <br />5. SUppOI'[• The County will provide the Schools with setup support from the <br />Cabarrus County General Services Department, through provision of tents, <br />stages, snaw fences, lining off, and other Spring Games preparations, <br />consistent with the past maintenance of the Program, and other related events <br />that may be scheduled throughout the term of this Agreement. <br />6. Transporta~ion. The County will make available the Cabarrus County <br />transportation vans for Special Olympics activities and programs. <br />Schools Responsibilities <br />1. uali .!The Schools will continue the Program in a manner meeting or <br />exceeding the quality of the administration of the Program during the <br />previous five (5) year agreement which ended June 30, 2005. <br />2. Finances. The Schools will assume all financial responsibilities for the <br />Program, subject to the limitations enumerated in Item 4 of the County <br />Obligations section above, and will supply the County with a current <br />financial ',statement of the Program upon request. T'he Schools Special <br />Olympicsp Coordinator shall assume all financial responsibilities relating to <br />the North Carolina Special Olympics State Pool Banking Account. <br />3. General Resnonsibilities. The Schools will continue to be responsible for <br />overall organization of the Program during the term of this Agreement. <br />~ "J <br />
