Solicitation. The County will reasonably assist the Schools with soliciting the support, both physically and monetarily, of other local govemmental agencies (i.e., ARC of Cabarrus County, Piedmont Rehabilitation Developrnent Center, YMCA, Cabamts Workshop, Cabarrus County Group Homes, Concord Parks and Recreation Department, and other deparhnents within the County structure). 4. Compensatjon. The County will compensate the Schools for its services by funding the salary and benefits of one (1) staff inember for each of the five (5) years of this Agreement. The fee for each year will be paid in advance to the Schools on or before July 15 of each respective year. However, in the event this Agreement is terminated during a fiscal year by the Schools, the Schools shall promptly reimburse the County for any unused fees on a prorata basis. In any year during the term of this Agreement, if it should appear that the annual compensation is insuff'icient for the operation of the Program, then the Schools may request additional funding from the County, subject to the approval of the Board of County Commissioners and the Board of Education. Additional funds may be requested for operational costs throughout the budget process. 5. SUppOI'[• The County will provide the Schools with setup support from the Cabarrus County General Services Department, through provision of tents, stages, snaw fences, lining off, and other Spring Games preparations, consistent with the past maintenance of the Program, and other related events that may be scheduled throughout the term of this Agreement. 6. Transporta~ion. The County will make available the Cabarrus County transportation vans for Special Olympics activities and programs. Schools Responsibilities 1. uali .!The Schools will continue the Program in a manner meeting or exceeding the quality of the administration of the Program during the previous five (5) year agreement which ended June 30, 2005. 2. Finances. The Schools will assume all financial responsibilities for the Program, subject to the limitations enumerated in Item 4 of the County Obligations section above, and will supply the County with a current financial ',statement of the Program upon request. T'he Schools Special Olympicsp Coordinator shall assume all financial responsibilities relating to the North Carolina Special Olympics State Pool Banking Account. 3. General Resnonsibilities. The Schools will continue to be responsible for overall organization of the Program during the term of this Agreement. ~ "J
