Mission Statement <br />Through visionary leadership and good stewardship, we will administer state <br />requirements, ensure public safety, determine county needs, and provide <br />services that continually enhance quality of life. <br />Core Values <br />Board members identified four core values to guide how county <br />government should carry out its mission: <br />Accountable/Responsible <br />• Collaborative <br />Integrity (principled) <br />Respect <br />Vision Statement <br />Our vision for Cabarrus is a county in which our children learn, our citizens <br />participate, our dreams matter, our families and neighbors thrive, and our <br />community prospers. <br />Next Steps <br />1. Management team reframes issues, actions, and challenges assigned <br />to county goals into a set of initiatives to support and achieve each <br />county goal. <br />2. Department heads review their departmental and operational goals <br />and plans to determine how they fit with the draft countywide goals <br />and initiatives and identify potential budget, policy, resource, and <br />timeframe implications. <br />3. Bring board and staff together to finalize core operating principles, <br />goals, and initiatives. <br />4. Prepare fmal core operating principles, goals, and initiatives; brief <br />board on budget, policy, resource, and timeframe implications and <br />recommendations for addressing implications; modify as needed and <br />have board adopt fmal version. <br />5. Develop monitoring/reporting process to keep board and staff <br />connected and conduct annual joint planning retreat to review county <br />goals and initiatives and adjust as needed. <br />G-rl <br />
