CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 7/23/07 <br />Agenda Item # <br />r- - a <br />SUBJECT: <br />Tax Collector's Annual Settlement and Order Authorizing Collection of 2007 Taxes <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Tax Collector is required by NC General Statute §105-373 to give an annual <br />settlement on current and delinquent taxes to the governing body for review and approval. <br />There are two settlement reports for fiscal year 2006-2007. One report is for real and <br />personal delinquent taxes and the other is for delinquent motor vehicle taxes that remain <br />unpaid for the preceding fiscal year. Also, there is a settlement report which shows all <br />taxes (real and personal) charged for collection for fiscal year 2007-2008. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board approves the agenda item as presented) <br />1. Accept the Tax Collector's settlement as reported. <br />2. Accept and approve the order authorizing Collection of 2007 taxes in accordance with <br />G.
