~~ SITE EVALUATION <br />-+ am <br />Construction Staging <br />As noted above, at this time spedfic prugrammaeic requirements for the jail and law enforcement center arc still under review. <br />However, it is important m consieier the requirements for a construction staging area for any site selected. This will Deed to be a <br />relatively Flat, open space, as large as possible, with Bond vehicle access, and preferably as close to the construction sice as possible; for <br />example, a paved parking In[ will serve yuite well. The staging area will provide a location fbr contractors construction trailers, some <br />conttactor parking, "lay-down' space for assembly of building romponents if needed, and storage of substantial quantities of building <br />material. The staging area will need to be devoted exclusively in the project and will probably need to be secured, perhaps with the <br />construction of a perimeter fence, to prevent theft, vandalism, or injury to passersby. The staging area should be located as close as• <br />possible, and preferably adjacent',to the building sire [u facilieute easy delivery of materials and reduce the impact of construction <br />vehicles on downtown traffic It is possible that one of [he sites identified in fiis study may serve as [he staging area fur anodter site. <br />The staging area will need to be dedicated to the project and remain in service during the entire consvuction period.
