CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 8/20/07 Agenda Item # ~- Z <br />SUBJECT: <br />Landfill -Budget Amendment (White Goods - $8,000) <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The following budget amendment is to appropriate $8,000 from White Goods expense to <br />create a containment collection system for the Household Hazardous Waste site at the <br />Landfill. This is necessary to keep this area in compliance with the EPA's Clean Water Act <br />& Spill Prevention Controls Countermeasure plan requirements. The County receives <br />quarterly payments for white goods from the Department of Environment & Natural <br />Resources. These funds are allowed to be carried forward each year.
