28.WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES. <br />Zones in which conditional: All zones <br />Section I PURPOSE. <br />The purpose of this Section 28 is to: <br />1. protect residential areas and land uses from potential adverse impacts of towers and antennas; <br />2. encourage the location of towers in non-residential and less developed areas; <br />3. strongly encourage joint use of new and existing tower sites as a primary option ra er <br />construction of additional single-use towers; <br />4. encourage users of towers and antennas to locate them, to the extent poss' az ere the <br />adverse impact on the community is minimal; <br />5. encourage users of towers and antennas to configure them ' that es the adverse <br />visual impact of the towers and antennas through careful sign, g, landscape screening, and <br />innovative camouflaging techniques; <br />6. enhance the ability of the providers of telecomm 'ons services to provide such services to the <br />community quickly, effectively, and efficiently; <br />7. consider the public's health and safety in <br />8. avoid potential damage to adjacent <br />siting of tower structures. <br />Section II. Wireless telecommunication antenna and related equipment designed to blend <br />into the surrounding environment or integrated into the physical structure to which it is attached. <br />BASE TRANSCEIVER STATION. Equipment that provides the link between wireless communications <br />and land-based public telephone switching networks, including radio frequency transceivers, back-up <br />power sources, power amplifiers, and signal processing hardwaze, typically contained in a small building or <br />cabinet. <br />~'-3 <br />
