CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 11/19/07 <br />Agenda Item # C " <br />SUBJECT: <br />Communications & Outreach- Capital Expenditure Grant for PEG Channel - $50,000 <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Communications and Outreach Department has been given an opportunity to apply for <br />an a-NC Capital Expenditure Grant in the amount of $25,000 due to recent legislation <br />(Session Law 2007-323) regarding cable franchise agreements. Funding from this <br />legislation is through the NC PEG (Public, Educational, or Governmental) Channel Fund. <br />Funds will be used to purchase a new broadcasting system to be used by the County's <br />PEG access Channel 22.
