CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 12/17/07 <br />Agenda Item # ~ - ( ~ <br />SUBJECT: <br />Construction & Demolition (C&D) Landfill -Revision of Fee Schedule <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Due to the increased volume of Construction and Demolition (C&D) debris at the landfill, <br />expansion of the current site is needed to increase the County's capacity. One of the <br />factors for the rapid use of the C&D space is that Cabarrus County's tipping fees are lower <br />than other nearby C&D landfills. Therefore, more C&D debris is brought in from outside <br />this county for disposal. A survey was conducted and an increase in C&D tipping fees <br />from $22 per ton to $27 per ton is recommended.
