Resource Planning and Stewardship <br /> <br /> <br />The Division of Aging and Adult Services describe a senior friendly <br />community in term$ of eight categories: physical environment, economy, <br />health, technology, safety and security, social and cultural involvement, <br />services and support, and resource planning and stewardship. It is important <br />for our community to consider some of the changes we will need to make in <br />preparing for the future growth ofthe older adult population. The NC Progress <br />board stated in its Iqng-range plan, NC 20/20, that an ultimate goal of the state <br />is to make North Ctolina a safe and vibrant place to live for all citizens, while <br />respecting the uniq~,e character of its communities. And, as we have seen <br />from the previous s~ide. s, our comm. . unities are developing a distinctly older <br />character.
