In Home Services <br />Long Term Care facilities <br />Senior Centers <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Many of these services are a part of our current infrastructure of services but <br />there are questions communities will need to address: <br /> <br />-60% of caregivers are employed and 80% are women. How does our <br />community support caregivers to enable them to continue their role as <br />caregivers <br /> <br />_ Will the new medicare Part D prescription drug plan provide enough support <br />for older adults to purchase medicine and food? <br /> <br />-According to the US Census Bureau 6.9% of the children in North Carolina <br />are being cared for by Grandparents. What kinds of supports need to be in <br />place for grandparents on fixed incomes to care for these children and keep <br />them out ofthe foster care system? <br /> <br />-Are there adequate long term care facilities with the quality of care we want <br />for our loved ones? <br /> <br />-Do we have adequate senior centers to address the special issues of older <br />adults? <br /> <br />G--2. <br /> <br />17 <br />
